Aryton Senna’s 1986 Lotus 98T is probably one of the most iconic Formula One cars. It’s the last in a long line of cars in the beautiful John Player Special colors of black and gold. This concept reinterprets these colors for Team Lotus in the F1 season 2011. It celebrates the pure beauty of F1 cars with matte black sponsor logos instead of bright obnoxious branding. Black carbon fibre is left unpainted to reduce weight. The top surfaces are coated with a matte finish to improve laminar flow reducing turbulence and increasing aerodynamic efficiency.
