Fashion Fringe, the eight-season-strong platform for launching new fashion designers onto the London stage, has today announced Samsung Mobile UK as one if their supporting partners for the London Fashion Week grand finale catwalk show taking place on Saturday 17th September.
The award winning Samsung Galaxy S II has become the Official Mobile Handset of Fashion Fringe for 2011. Samsung is the exclusive technology partner of Fashion Fringe and will be directly supporting the event with its Galaxy S II smartphone. As well as kitting out past winners JENA.THEO and Corrie Nielsen with all the equipment they need to run their business from their studios at Somerset House.
Ahead of the final, Samsung has provided each of the three finalists with a Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone to aid them in their preparations for their catwalk shows during London Fashion Week. On site at the show, Samsung will be hosting a backstage chill-out zone, exclusively for the models, designers and Fashion Fringe judges taking part in the show. Additionally, the judges will receive all three designers' "Look Books" on a Galaxy S II, to greatly aid their decision process.
Fashion Fringe Founder & Creative Director, Colin McDowell, commented: "We are really thrilled to announce our partnership. Technology is of increasing importance in the everyday lives of us all and designers are no exception. Long gone are the days when vaguely creative gestures with pen or brush were seen as all a designer needed. Now a successful fashion business can't possibly be run without aids to the creative and communicative processes, essential in any designer's studio today. Samsung's support has ensured that our designers and judges have been equipped with the best possible technology at this crucial time. With one week to go until the event, we're looking forward to celebrating the best in emerging fashion talent with Samsung."
Samsung Mobile UK & I, Managing Director, Simon Stanford, said "The Galaxy S II is the must-have accessory for Fashion Fringe, in particular the new Galaxy SII white. Super slim, sleek design and extremely powerful, the Galaxy S II forms the perfect foundation for creativity. Where Fashion Fringe offers the next generation of fashion designer, the Galaxy S II represents the next step in the evolution of mobile communication."
Samsung joins American Express, Covent Garden London, Davenport Lyons, DHL, The Mayor of London, Very.co.uk and media partner Metro in supporting emerging fashion through its sponsorship of Fashion Fringe.
